Q – What are the Nursery fees

Q – What is included
A –
Freshly prepared well balanced meals including fresh fruit and snacks
All Nappies and other changing Products

Q – Do you charge when you are closed on bank holidays and at Christmas
A – No

Q – Can I use Childcare Vouchers and how do they work
A –  
Yes we have accounts with many childcare voucher providers and can set up new accounts easily. Any payments set up via vouchers will be deducted from your bill.

Q – Is it ok to book extra sessions for my child
A – 
Yes, if a space is available for your child we can book them in for extra sessions as required.

Q – How do you monitor access to the nursery
A –  
All parents and carers must use the locked front door and only gain entry to the nursery by a member of staff. No one is allowed access to the building without being acknowledged by a member of staff.

Q – What do I need to bring with my child to nursery
A – A set of spare clothes, outdoor clothing for the climate for e.g. sunhats in the summer, warm coats, hats etc in the winter. Suitable footwear for outdoor play wellies in the winter and sandshoes or crocs in the summer. If your child has any regular medication then this must also be brought daily.

QHow will I settle my child into nursery
A – We run settling in sessions which increase in length, so that a child can gradually become accustomed to the new routine and surroundings. A child is also allocated a key person who’s role is to build a relationship with your child and help them feel secure within nursery.

QDo the children go on outings
A – Yes. We always require parental permission before doing so.

QCan I see your policies and procedures
A – A copy of all our policies and procedures is available for you to read at the nursery. We will inform you each time a policy is updated and have it available for you to view.

QWhat if my child has an accident
AWe have an accident policy in place and all staff are aware of the procedures to follow. All staff have first aid qualifications that are specifically for paediatrics. We inform you of any accident involving your child and ask you to sign the accident book as well as providing you with a copy especially important if someone else collects your child for you.

QIf my child is unwell are they allowed to attend
A – We have a strict illness and infection policy with periods of exclusion for infectious illnesses. However for minor illnesses such as a cold or a teething baby if you as a parent feel they are well enough to be at nursery we are happy for them to attend as parents know their children best. However if during the day we feel they are not well enough to stay we will contact you to collect them.

QMy child has asthma. Is that a problem
A – No. We are able to administer inhalers with your consent. Ideally it is worth having an extra inhaler to leave at nursery at all times.

QWhat are your opening hours
A – Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm. We do close for all bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

QWhat child to staff ratios do you follow
A – We follow the Ofsted requirements, which are as follows: 1:3 for children aged 0-2 years, 1:4 for children aged 2 years and 1:8 for  children aged 3 years and over.

Q – Do you cater for special dietary requirements
A – Our chef is very experienced at catering for all dietary requirements. If necessary you can discuss any special dietary requirements with her in person. Jill is our Food Allergies Officer who is responsible for all allergy advice.

Q – My child has Additional Needs
A – Kimberley is our nursery special educational needs co-ordinator has a great deal of experience in helping children with additional needs. We will work collaboratively with parents and other professionals to ensure the needs of the child are met. Please CLICK HERE to view information.
